Laboratory Maintainer ("Lab-Master") of Microsoft Research Asia's Hardware Lab.

Work Location: Beijing

Working Time: TBD (based on interview) (basically 9AM to 5PM, Weekdays)

Position: TBD (based on interview)

Salary: TBD (based on interview)

Responsibilities:

· Organizing all lab. facilities & parts, and keep lab clean

· Maintaining all lab. facilities & tools

· Refilling consumables and "standard parts & materials" by checking stocks periodically

· Assigning temporally working space for each lab. user upon request

· Providing proper facilities and tools upon request (and track records)

· Lecturing for new users (lab-rules, operating instructions), issuing "license" for accessing each lab-facilities

· Helping & Mentoring for lab. users (electrical, mechanical, material, (chemical))

· Warning/punishing bad-users who violates lab-rules and use facilities and tools improperly

· Assisting for buying parts (from both of Taobao and real local shops)

· Designing and making mechanical parts and electric circuits based on requests

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Wide knowledge for electronics, mechanics, materials, chemicals

· Operation and maintenance skill of electric and mechanical tools

(i.e.: Soldering (Incl. SMT), Drilling, Lathe, Milling (Incl. CNC), 3D printing, Laser Cutting, ...)

· General work for wood, plastic, metal, and other materials

· Good knowledge for getting proper parts, tools and materials  (especially for local shops)

· English Conversation (lab's standard language is English)

· Motivation for making something)

· 2D & 3D CAD (we use SolidWorks)

· Schematics & PCB CAD (we use OrCAD)

· IDEs for Embedded Systems (ARM, PIC, PSoC, ...)

· General skills of computers and programming languages (C, C++, C#, Java, ...)
